Hi, I’m Kate, the photographer behind Kate's Photography in Midland, Michigan. My favorite part of photography is capturing the special moments in people’s lives. From weddings to updated family photos and proud milestone moments, I strive to preserve the emotions that make each memory unique.

With a friendly and casual approach, I focus on creating authentic images that bring those moments to life. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding day, gathering with family, or marking an important senior year milestone, my goal is to deliver timeless photos that reflect your story and give you something meaningful to cherish for years to come.

The Heart Behind the Camera

I started Kate's Photography because I believe that every family’s ordinary moments are truly extraordinary. Capturing the laughter of your kids in your Midland backyard or the chaos of a wedding day in full swing makes my work meaningful and fulfilling. Everyone deserves to have quality photos that don't break the budget.

When not shooting sessions, I love exploring Midland's best spots, enjoying coffee, and spending time with my own family. I cherish natural light and genuine smiles, welcoming families who want to celebrate their unique stories exactly as they are.

A Few Things Clients Ask

How far in advance should I book my session?

Weddings - Recommended booking 1 year in advance

Family portraits and senior photos - Recommend booking at least four to six weeks ahead. Booking early helps ensure availability and the perfect date for your special moment.

What should we wear?

Don’t worry too much about matching outfits. Instead, focus on coordinating colors and comfortable clothes that feel like you. Layers work great to add natural texture and style to your photos.

Where will our session take place?

We shoot at beautiful outdoor locations throughout Midland and surrounding areas. Once you're booked, we’ll pick a perfect spot that fits your vibe and the style you want.

Examples in Midland include the Chippewa Nature Center and Dow Gardens; in the surrounding areas that are a variety of nature spots, downtown scenery and waterfronts such as Saginaw Bay or the Tittabawassee River. If you are looking for a studio pictures, I typically use a photography studio located in downtown Midland.

How long until we get our photos?

Weddings- your finished gallery will be ready within 6-8 weeks.

Family and Senior photos- Your finished gallery will be ready within 3-4 weeks.

You’ll receive a private online gallery to view and download.

What if my kids won't cooperate?

No worries! Our sessions are flexible and fun, designed to capture genuine moments. Sometimes the best shots come from playful, unscripted behavior. Kids will be kids, as a mom of 1 I have come up with many fun ways to capture their attention even if its for a split second, that's all I need!
